Episode# 06: Ina Dobarova from Bulgaria and Yarabi Vega from Panama

In June 2004 I found a few albums of “Buddha Bar”. Several times I listened to all songs, but after this I chose 3 songs that I liked the most, I even didn’t look at the names of the singers. The music sounded very interesting, it was so new and so strange for me. This was the reason that made me look for more songs of these singers. I was really surprised, when I realized that all the three songs are performed by the same singer and his name is Amr Diab!

I didn’t know anything about him then, so I started to look for his music on internet and found his pictures, his biography and all his songs. I was happy when I realized that Amr is Egyptian because this country has a special meaning to me. Unfortunately here in Bulgaria there is almost no information and advertisements about him. I managed to find here only a few of his albums – “The very best of Amr Diab”, “Greatest hits of Amr” and “Tamally Maak”. My Egyptian friends sent me “Kammel Kalamak” and in 2007, when I visited Egypt, I bought some more albums.

One of the things that really do impressed me in Egypt was the immense Amr’s posters on the streets, hundreds of his albums at the stores and his songs that could be heard on the streets.

I am Bulgarian and I do not understand Arabic. Because of the language barrier I cannot understand 100 % of the song’s information, although I have the text translations of almost all his songs. As foreigner, for me basic experience in the songs of Amr is music. I liked the rhythm of the songs, they have vibrations of the heart and they gave me a lot of energy. I need exactly this kind of music! Amr has an unique mix of energy and sensitivity, some magic that audience feels. But what matters the most for me is his modesty and perfect sense of proportion, his talent to attract admires and to generate good vibrations.
I hope to see Amr in Bulgaria one day…

Im from Panamá Central America , the first time I heard Amr diab was in jacksonville Florida, when I start to hang out with some good arabic friend from Sirya hi to all of them and thanks for share with me his beautiful culture and ofcourse the amaiz...ing song of the great guy with beauty voice a bless that God give him Arm diab . shukran to my friend Jihad halit sing me Arm Diab songs all his music touch really deep my alby and take me out some tears my best whishes for Arm diab and all his musician team.
when you going to visit latin america, cuz is hard to find your music here in the latin market. blessing I love youuuuuuuuuuuu ya habibiiiiii from Panama to middle east
